Glasgow’s Helping Heroes held an Open Day to celebrate its new offices at The Pearce Institute on Tuesday 13th February…
Following the successful event, attendee MSP Annie Wells lodged a Parliamentary Motion about the service.
Glasgow’s Helping Heroes is a partnership between SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity and Glasgow City Council, to support the serving community, veterans and their families.
The team offer holistic help and advice on issues such as housing, employment and training, dealing with debt or financial issues as well as assistance relating to health problems.
The Open Day was a celebration of the successes of the service over the past eight years and a look towards the future. In attendance were former and current clients of Glasgow’s Helping Heroes, as well as Sir Andrew Gregory – SSAFA Chief Executive – and Phil Greene – Glasgow’s Veterans Champion.
The Pearce Institute, a Grade one listed building and well-known landmark in Govan, is a much bigger and brighter space for clients to visit the team. Its location, opposite Govan underground and bus station, makes the office easy to get to by public transport or car.
Rachel Tribble, Service Manager at Glasgow’s Helping Heroes, said: “We are delighted with our new offices at The Pearce Institute. We now have a bigger and brighter space in which to support members of the Armed Forces community who come to see us.
