June is already a busy month for Pathfinder International magazine, with the launch of our third Armed Forces & Veterans Resettlement Expo in Southampton on June 27, followed by our official media partnership with Wiltshire Council for the National Armed Forces Day Event in Salisbury on 28-30 June.

5 weeks to go until the Southampton Expo

Now, we have pledged our support to the “Bringing The Armed Forces Covenant To Life” event being held at York St. John University on Wednesday June 19.

York St. John University added: “This event will offer you the opportunity to learn, reflect on, and celebrate the success of the two year South Yorkshire Armed Forces Covenant Project which was undertaken in partnership with Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley Local Authorities and in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam and York St John Universities. Throughout the course of the project York St John University (YSJ) delivered Military Human: Understanding Military Culture and TransitionCPD training to over 1,000 front line staff across South Yorkshire.

The conference will give you the opportunity to:

• Listen to key note speakers from the military community including Nick Wood, YSJ Education & Development Lead, and facilitator of the CPD training the Military Human: Understanding Military Culture and Transition (a series of study days giving an in-depth understanding into the Armed Forces Covenant and challenges faced by ex-service personnel faced with the transition to civilian life).

• Hear from Local Authorities’ Armed Forces Covenant leads on the impact this project has had on staff working across the South Yorkshire region.

• Meet and network with colleagues from a wide range of professions associated with the military community including the NHS.

• Browse the exhibition stands with representatives from national charities and military organisations on hand to share their experiences.

Pathfinder editor, Mal Robinson said: “In what is already a busy month for Pathfinder, we are thrilled to be included at this important event and celebrate the good work that has been done by Nick Wood and the South Yorkshire Armed Forces Covenant Project. It will be a superb opportunity for people looking to understand the transitional journey from the military to civilian life and the more we talk about this, perhaps the easier the resettlement phase will become.”

Conference admission is free of charge and we very much hope that you will be interested in taking part. If you would like to attend please register now at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/military-human-conference-bringing-the-armed-forces-covenant-to-life-tickets-58794995414
