The Forces Pension Society is once again shining a spotlight on the importance of military pensions with its Armed Forces Pensions Awareness campaign, running from 8–12 September as part of Pension Awareness Week.
The Society believes that understanding the true value of a pension is key to financial stability — not just in retirement, but also when planning for life after service. For those still serving, it can be easy to overlook the impact of pension choices made today. For those transitioning out of the Armed Forces, a clear grasp of pension benefits can make a significant difference when starting a second career.
This year’s campaign is designed to reach across the whole military community — serving personnel, reservists, veterans, service leavers, and families. The programme includes online myth-busting content, FAQs, and practical advice, as well as two live presentations for the Ministry of Defence on 9 and 11 September.
The Forces Pension Society’s message is simple: by understanding your pension, you can make more informed decisions and build stronger foundations for the future.
This important campaign comes once a year with the National Pension Awareness Day on 15th September. so don’t miss this opportunity to get involved – make a note in your calendar, and follow the FPA on social media @ForcesPensions #AFPAW25 #ArmedForcesPensions
