Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity has been awarded £266,720 from The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, marking a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two organisations.
The funding will support RNRMC’s ongoing work to deliver assistance to serving personnel, veterans and their families across the Royal Naval community. The charity said the award would enable continued investment in frontline services and priority projects, ensuring support is available when it is most needed.
As part of its delivery model, RNRMC now has a dedicated team based in Scotland, working alongside community partners to provide locally tailored support. By combining national best practice with local provision, the charity aims to strengthen family resilience, improve mental health and wellbeing, and enhance wider social support networks for Royal Navy and Royal Marines families.
One example is the Strengthening Families – West of Scotland programme, launched in April to support Royal Navy submariner families managing the demands of service life and separation. The initiative works with submariners and their families at different stages of their journey, helping address the pressures associated with extended deployments and limited communication.
Sam Nicolson MBE, Chief Executive of Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, said the funding would make a tangible difference to serving personnel, veterans and their families, enabling the charity to continue delivering essential support across the Royal Naval community.
Jason Barrett, Chief Executive of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said the success of the 2025 event had translated into meaningful support for military charities, including RNRMC, and highlighted the role of performers, staff and audiences in achieving that outcome.
Since 2007, RNRMC has distributed millions of pounds each year to organisations and initiatives supporting the Royal Navy community. Over the past 16 years, the partnership between the Tattoo and RNRMC has helped raise more than £1 million to support Royal Navy and Royal Marines communities across the UK.
