The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) has confirmed the appointment of Samantha Nicolson MBE as its new chief executive, following her period as interim CEO.
Ms Nicolson has worked with the charity for 17 years and has led it on an interim basis during a period of strategic development. Her appointment signals continuity for the organisation as it focuses on long-term support for Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel and their families.
She said she was “pleased” to take on the role permanently, noting that her long experience within the charity had given her “a good grounding” in what is required. “We will continue to work tirelessly for those that need us most, in partnership with the other Naval charities as well as the Royal Navy,” she added.
Chair of trustees Dr Brian Gilvary said her leadership during the interim period had shown “strategic vision” and a strong commitment to the charity’s beneficiaries.
The RNRMC remains the main charity of the Royal Navy and works alongside organisations across the Naval Service and wider Armed Forces community.
