Managing the Military to Civilian Career Transition

Here at TVS Supply Chain Solutions, we are a forces friendly employer. We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant. We know the value that veterans can bring to our business. Last year, we were awarded the Gold Award for our continued commitment to being a forces-friendly employer. This came just a year after being awarded a Silver Award. We employ Veterans, Reservists, and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers across our business, and the unique skills these people bring to industry have been invaluable in our growth.

We also promote our Armed Forces Covenant status online as this shows everyone we engage with that we are forces friendly and allows us to attract the very best people for our company.

Supporting our Armed Forces Staff

Veterans and reservists bring varied and unique skills to our organisation which they have developed over a long career in service. As we have expanded our offering in the defence sector, we have seen our veterans and staff constantly rise to the challenges presented.

To coordinate our work with the Armed Forces, we work closely with the AFC and recruit staff leaving service through the Career Transition Programme. Once brought on board, we support the veteran community through:

  • Offering ten days extra paid leave for annual training camps for reservists
  • HR policies that support our veterans and reservists
  • Promoting the work of the AFC to our suppliers
  • Attending CTP events – We actively look to recruit service leavers
  • Offering service leavers CV writing and interview workshops
  • We place consultants direcly into the MoD
  • We have a registered affiliation with 6 Regt, which benchmarks our warehouse against Military Best Practice

Meet Our Team

Veterans and reservists make up around 15% of the total employees at TVS SCS. They all play a vital role in the continued growth of TVS SCS and we are proud to employee a large number of veterans in our business.

One of the veterans employed by TVS SCS, Stuart a former RLC Warrant Officer Class One  is now an account manager for TVS. Having been with TVS for a number of years Stuart has helped grow our consultancy offering and supports our work with the MoD.

Defence Charity Work

Whilst we feel it is essential to support our armed forces staff internally, TVS SCS also understands the tremendous work done externally by charities. We regularly work with SSAFA, the armed forces charity, to help raise funds to continue their work. Most recently, we sponsored the SSAFA race day at Chepstow racecourse. This is an event we have supported for many years now.

We also support the RLC foundation to ensure the vital work they carry out can continue.
