2014 Armed Forces Day on BFBS Radio, TV and Forces TV

BFBS Radio and TV, and the new 24-hour channel, Forces TV, will be broadcasting from the Armed Forces Day National Event in Stirling on Saturday 28th June

BFBS Radio’s coverage will run from 10am until 6pm (UK), relaying scenes from the main parade at Stirling castle and thrilling aerial shows by favourites such as the RAF Falcons and the Red Arrows.

Richard Hutchinson will produce live interviews and features gathered by BFBS Catterick’s Chris Kaye and BFBS Scotland’s Mark Mackenzie, as they meet up with veterans and personnel taking part.

Forces TV will have a team in Stirling, with live programmes from the main parade and Drumhead Service, presented by Tim Cooper and Edinburgh reporter, Ali Gibson.

Viewers will get a real taste for the atmosphere on the day as thousands of spectators enjoy the military stands, bands and displays.

Forces TV will also be reporting from Afghanistan and across the armed forces world, looking at the roles played by servicemen and women in the Army, Royal Navy and RAF.

Visitors to Stirling can meet our presenters and producers at the BFBS Outside Broadcast rig in the events field below the castle. It’s a great opportunity to record a message or request for a loved one deployed or based overseas.

A round up of the colourful events in Stirling and elsewhere on Armed Forces Day will also be shown on British Forces News on Monday 30th June.

And throughout Armed Forces Day there’ll be live updates from Stirling on our social media sites, Facebook and Twitter, @bfbs and @Forces_TV
