An Elegant Evening Of Culture…And Fundraising

As part of its centenary celebrations, Worthing-based charity Care for Veterans is to host ‘A Century in Music, Prose and Poetry’ at Arundel Castle on the evening of Saturday 9th November…

Since 1919, Care for Veterans has provided care and rehabilitation to physically disabled ex-Service personnel, often at a time when they are facing the toughest battle of their lives. This year marks the charity’s centenary year and to celebrate this landmark in their history, this special event will look back over the last 100 years with each decade being celebrated in either music, prose or poetry.

The event will be held in the stunning Baron’s Hall at Arundel Castle and will feature celebrity guests reading poetry and prose and musical performances by talented musicians. The famous faces are James Bolam, Susan Jameson, Christopher Timothy, Tim Wonnacott and Nicholas Witchell. Also attending the event will be Care for Veterans’ President, HRH Princess Alexandra.

Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Care for Veterans, Elizabeth Baxter, said: “We are indebted to The Duke of Norfolk who has kindly donated Arundel Castle to Care for Veterans for our event and the wonderful celebrities who are coming to make this a very special evening, raising vital funds for our nation’s heroes.”

Tickets for the event are £50 each and include a drinks and canapés reception and interval drink. For more information, and to book tickets, contact Care for Veterans on 01903 218444.
