Living with persistent pain can be difficult, affecting all areas of your life. Would you like to attend a free Veteran specific Pain Management Programme to help you learn ways to manage it more effectively?
The programme has been twice rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and 93% of veterans who completed the programme rated it as 5 stars.
The aims of the Pain Management Programme (PMP) are:
- To improve physical functioning and ability whilst reducing associated flare ups
- To improve understanding of persistent pain conditions to help you make choices about your future pain management
- To reduce pain related distress and behaviours that may be increasing and maintaining your distress and difficulties
- To review and reduce medication and to develop ways to manage increases in pain
The PMP is in total ten days long spread over nine months; this includes two residential components of four days each and two single days.
King Edward VII’s Hospital will provide the assessment and treatment free of charge and will cover all reasonable travel costs, accommodation and meals. Spaces are limited and a GP referral along with Proof of Service will need to be submitted before an assessment can be offered.
