Armed Forces Gun Salutes Take Place In Belfast, Cardiff, And Edinburgh To Mark The Proclamation Of King Charles III

The proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III was today read at Edinburgh Castle, Cardiff Castle and Hillsborough Castle near Belfast. The UK Armed Forces provided guards of honour and military bands at all three proclamations. In Scotland, a guard of honour of The Royal Regiment of Scotland together with The Band of HM Royal Marines in Scotland took part in the proclamation in Edinburgh. A royal salute of 21 rounds was fired by 105th Regiment Royal Artillery from Edinburgh Castle. The Armed Forces supported the Lord Lyon at Arms reading of the Proclamation for King Charles III in Edinburgh – both at the Royal Mile and at Edinburgh Castle. Following the reading a 21 Gun Salute was carried out by 105 Regiment Royal Artillery. The Royal Regiment of Scotland and Royal Company of Archers have provided Guard of Honour for the arrival of the cortege of HM Queen Elizabeth II at the Palace of Holyrood following its journey from Balmoral.

The proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III was yesterday read at Edinburgh Castle, Cardiff Castle and Hillsborough Castle near Belfast.

In Northern Ireland, a proclamation guard formed by 2nd Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, supported by The Band of the Royal Irish Regiment, was on parade at Hillsborough Castle.

In Wales, 3rd Battalion The Royal Welsh formed a guard of honour. They were supported by The Band of The Royal Welsh and accompanied by their regimental mascot at Cardiff Castle. A royal salute of 21 rounds was fired by 104th Regiment Royal Artillery.
