Armed Forces Transition Fair And Business Seminar – Tuesday June 25th 2013

A unique event during Armed Forces Week aimed at potential service leavers, veterans and their wider families is to be held in the Welsh capital on Tuesday, 25 June

The Transition Fair is an initiative being organised by the Armed Forces in Wales in partnership with the Welsh Government, the Welsh Local Government Association, the Institute of Directors, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Department for Work and Pensions, Cardiff Business Club and many others.

It will be held at City Hall.

Brigadier Philip Napier, Commander 160 (Wales) Brigade and head of the Army in Wales, said: “There are 5,000 service personnel stationed within Wales, over 8,000 that are based around the world who come from Wales and upwards of 250,000 who have served their country and now reside amongst the Welsh population.

“They need and deserve our support as they transition from the Armed Forces and the Welsh Government Package of Support and the Community Covenant initiative are all about tangible means by which this can be delivered.

“It is also aimed at those currently based in Wales but planning to settle elsewhere in the United Kingdom. We would very much like to encourage business and enterprise to take a stand at the event during the day and for directors, CEOs and HR staff to attend the business seminar, reception and display of military music that will run from 5pm.”
