Celebrate Armed Forces Day In Brighton

Military charity Blind Veterans UK is hosting Brighton’s Armed Forces Day celebrations this year, bringing together Service charities and organisations in the area giving a platform to showcase the work they do within the community…

The special event taking place on Sunday 30th June is being supported by local talent including classic rock and blues band 95% Proof and the musical Suzuki children, both performing in the main arena. There will be plenty of stalls, activities and challenges including; a fun dog show, a full military band, inflatables, military and classic vehicles, have a go archery, Owls Out And About and a huge variety of craft stalls.

The Cadets will be out in force with the tri-Service Cadet Kitkar Challenge which is not to be missed. There will also be a chance to have a look inside a driverless pod, created by autonomous vehicle company Aurrigo and currently undergoing its first trial with blind veterans at the Blind Veterans UK centre. Taking top billing on the Blind Veterans UK centre’s grounds will be the Central Band of the Royal Air Force.

Doors open at 10:30 and all the activities will run until 15:00. Entry is free and parking costs £1. Many local blind veterans will be attending and helping out with activities on the day.
