LIVEX 23 is Experimentation and Trials Group activity which took place in both the urban and rural domains around the Swindon area recently.
Personnel from 2 Yorks and TDUs exercised with experimental kit and equipment initially in the urban domain, specifically the disused Debenhams store in Swindon, moving into the rural domain on 28 September.
The Phalanx Platoons concept was trialled for the first time with new kit and equipment on a multi-phase exercise to test the concept which incorporates a systems operator into the platoon to provide situational awareness through the use of uncrewed systems.
They also trialled a variety of other innovative kit including uncrewed ground vehicles one of which will be weaponised. Other new kit includes enhanced Dismounted Situational Awareness, STEED and ballistic shields
