First Awards From Community Centres Programme

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is delighted to have made the first ever awards under the Veterans’ Community Centres Programme, with 11 worthy projects taking a share of just over £220,000 to improve the facilities available to veterans in their local communities…

Whether new carpets, repairs to a roof, disabled access, improved lighting and more – the Trust has supported projects who’ve shown that funding is truly needed and is going to make a huge difference to veterans across the UK.

Melloney Poole, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “What a selection of projects we’ve supported! From making centres more accessible for disabled veterans, to modernising these spaces into places that veterans, old and young, can make great use of, there’s now a whole host of refurbishment work ready to begin across the UK.”

Where do veterans in your community meet?

Do you know of a veterans’ community centre in your local area that could do with a refresh?

The Trust is encouraging those using veterans’ community centres to spread the word about this new funding and encourage centres to make an application. There are two strands to the programme, and it’s a simple process to apply for a grant of up to £30,000.

Find out more about who can apply and how much is available on the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust website.
