Fundraising Garden Party At Bishop’s House Gardens

Scotty’s Little Soldiers, is set to host a special fundraising garden party at Bishop’s House Gardens in Norwich to raise funds for children who have lost a parent in the British Armed Forces…

The event, which is by kind permission of the Bishop of Norwich and Mrs James, will take place on Sunday 16th September from 1pm until 5pm, and feature an array of family entertainment including a live performance from the City of Norwich Pipe Band.

Open to the public only for a few dates in the year, Bishop’s House Garden is a four-acre walled garden dating back to the 12th century and has belonged to the Bishops of Norwich for over 900 years.

Founded by war widow Nikki Scott in 2010, Scotty’s Little Soldiers supports children across the UK who have lost a parent while serving in the British Armed Forces. The charity was set up in memory of Nikki’s husband and father to her two children, Corporal Lee Scott, after he was killed in Afghanistan in 2009.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers was personally selected this year by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, as one of seven charities to receive donations from the Royal Wedding.

Nikki Scott commented: “We’re extremely grateful to the Bishop of Norwich and his wife for giving us permission to use their fantastic gardens to host this special event, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting.

“Having the opportunity to hold family fundraising days like this is so important. Our funding depends heavily on donations and without the support of the public we couldn’t deliver the high level of support we do to children who, at such a young age, have already been through so much.”

Admission to the garden party is £4 for adults and all money raised will go to Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
