HMS Enterprise Supporting Relief Effort In Lebanon

Image of HMS Enterprise leaving Limassol port, Cyprus on Sunday 9 August 2020.

The ship sailed from Cyprus and has now arrived in Lebanon, where her role will be to access the damage of Beirut’s port following the explosion there on August 4 and help return it to normal operations.

The ship was loaded with 500-person operational catering field units and tents, plus associated equipment, loaded by RAF movers throughout the night.

Over the past five years, this naval vessel has been involved in a diverse range of activities, from detecting mines in the Arabian Gulf to saving lives and disrupting the work of human traffickers.

The Beirut explosion has claimed approximately 157 lives, 5,000 injuries and left over 300,000 people homeless.
