Hull Army Reserves Hold An Open Day In Their Future ‘HOME’

The Yorkshire Regiment in Hull is inviting people to an Open Day on Sunday (26 April 2015) to find out more about what life is like in the Army Reserve

Soldiers from Alma Company, 4th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (4 YORKS) will be showcasing their skills and equipment at the Halifax Barracks Army Reserve Centre on the corner of Endike Lane and Beverley Road, Hull HU6 7JA from 11.00 am – 4.00 pm.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see the weapons they use, as well as vehicles, signals kit and other military equipment they use when living in the field.

As well as those interested in becoming an infantry soldier, there are also jobs for chefs, medics and administrators.

Alma Company’s Administration Officer, Captain Derek Shakesby said: “After the successful open day in October, we had a lot of local interest and a number of people are now waiting to start their training.

“In July, Alma Company will move from Mona House on Leads Road to Halifax Barracks in Beverley Road as part of the reorganisation of the Army Reserves. We look forward to meeting the local community and businesses – please feel free to drop in, have a chat and find out more about us.”

4 YORKS is an infantry battalion comprising a Headquarters in York and four Companies based in the East Riding, North, South and West Yorkshire
