Join SSAFA’s 12 Days Of Kindness To Support The Armed Forces Community This Christmas

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity calls on the public to take part in their 12 Days of Kindness to give back to local communities whilst raising much needed funds to support the men, women and families of the Armed Forces.

The campaign will run from Friday 11th December until Tuesday 22nd December and will encourage participants to choose an act of kindness each day to help combat loneliness and isolation amongst the Armed Forces community, whilst raising funds for SSAFA.

These acts could vary from checking in on an elderly neighbour or someone who may be isolated, holding a Virtual Christmas Big Brew up to stay connected, or enquiring with your local SSAFA branch about ways you can help support the Armed Forces Community where you live.

The charity are calling on individuals to take on as many of the acts of kindness as possible to combat loneliness and isolation amongst the community, as well as raise vital funds for SSAFA.

Participants will be able to set their own fundraising target and encourage friends and family to sponsor them as they take on SSAFA’s 12 Days of Kindness. Don’t forget to use the #SSAFA12Days on social media.

Jim Morrison, Head of Community Fundraising, said: “2020 has been a difficult year for many and our 12 days of kindness initiative aims to give a ray of hope, show kindness and proudly support or veterans and service families during the festive season.”

“Many of our veterans, service personnel and their families have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown. Whether they’ve recently transitioned, are facing unemployment or are struggling with loneliness and isolation, SSAFA are there for them when they need it most.

Our 12 days of kindness aims to make a difference within your local community.”

At the end of the 12 Days, participants will receive a personal thank you letter and certificate for taking part and individuals or teams who complete and share the most acts of Kindness get the chance to win some special Christmas goodies.
