Online Resource For Parents Posted Overseas

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity has launched the eRedbook for military parents who are posted in Cyprus and Kenya giving them access to technology ahead of many places in the UK…

The eRedbook is a digitalised version of the traditional Redbook which has been given to all new parents over the past 50 years to help track their child’s health between 0-5 years old.

The digital Redbook includes information on immunisations, weight and height charts, developmental firsts and important contacts. The online resource also contains personalised, practical information for new parents including information from local sources in Cyprus and Kenya.

Local information is particularly important for new mothers posted abroad, as they may not know about the healthcare to which they’re entitled.

The eRedbook provides a more mobile service for military families who are often posted elsewhere during and after their pregnancies. The digital tool also allows parents posted abroad to share their eRedbook records, enabling family members to stay connected and involved during and after pregnancy.

Jane Bojdys, Public Health Lead at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity says: “SSAFA are proud to be at the cutting edge of service provision for our community, enabling them to not only access new technology but directly influence the future development to meet the needs of our highly-mobile families.”
