Operation Eastern Hawk 22 lasted five weeks and saw the Red Arrows performing in aerobatic displays, flypasts and taking part in ground events.
The tour supported a range of UK interests across trade, business and defence while also promoting STEM subjects. Officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows showcase the excellence of the RAF and represent the United Kingdom both at home and overseas.
The team consists of pilots and more than 100 highly-trained support personnel. Each of the pilots has previous fast-jet, operational experience flying the Tornado, Typhoon or Harrier, enabling the RAF to secure the skies and protect the nation and its interests, 365-days a year. The team is based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team performed a flypast over the Giza Pyramids as the Red Arrows left Cairo to conclude a five-week tour of the Gulf region and Egypt. The visit to Egypt was the first by the team to the country for almost 20 years and included a display in Hurghada and outreach to local schools, to promote science, technology, engineering and maths. The tour took in six countries and has supported a range of UK interests across defence, trade, education and business.
