Transforming Lives Two at a Time

Service Dogs UK made a HUGE impact in 2024. That’s why, this year, they have published their first-ever Impact Report, highlighting their remarkable achievements in 2024.

For almost ten years, they have been dedicated to supporting Armed Forces and Emergency Services Veterans with PTSD, pairing them with dogs, mostly from rescue, and supporting them as they train together to become ADI Accredited PTSD Assistance dogs, creating creating life-changing partnerships.

This year, they accredited 11 new Veteran-dog partnerships, including two successor dogs, and delivered over 3,000 training hours. Volunteers played a vital role, contributing more than 50,000 hours to support training, fostering, and community outreach, demonstrating their dedication and passion to our cause.

Feedback from Veterans shows 100% reported improved relationships, self- motivation, and reduced anger, while 90% experienced less anxiety and enhanced confidence.

Milestones included the opening of a thriving new hub in Essex, recognition of team members and Veterans at national awards, and heartwarming success stories, such as that of Lee and his assistance and successor dogs Ajax and Jager.

Looking ahead, SDUK plans further regional expansions to meet growing demand while continuing to change two lives at a time.

The first annual Impact Report demonstrates the organisation’s continued commitment to helping Veterans regain independence and purpose, helping them to rebuild lives once shattered by PTSD.
