A £10,000 grant has been awarded by the RAF Benevolent Fund to support ongoing work with RAF veterans and their families, strengthening the delivery of holistic services including employment support, mental health initiatives and welfare advocacy.

The funding will contribute to a broad programme aimed at helping RAF veterans transition into civilian life, and reflects the continued collaboration between the organisation and the RAF Benevolent Fund.

A formal referral pathway has also been established, ensuring that veterans needing more specialist support can be directly connected with the RAF Benevolent Fund’s services.

Kate Childs, Director of Fundraising & Communications, said: “We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with organisations that share our mission and collaborative work is one of our key strengths. This generous grant from the RAF Benevolent Fund will enable us to continue building on our commitment to help RAF veterans make the transition into civilian life as smooth as possible.”

The announcement follows growing recognition of the value of wraparound support for former Service personnel, particularly in areas such as mental health and wellbeing. One RAF veteran and programme beneficiary, Bryn, said: “I had been inspired by the care that I had received and I realised that I wanted to become a counsellor and help others as I had been helped.”

The grant highlights the importance of cross-sector partnerships in improving outcomes for RAF veterans and their families.
