Are you a budding artist, creative designer, or simply someone wanting to do something outside of the box if you are still in lockdown?
Would you like the chance to be in with a shout of designing the next front cover of Pathfinder International magazine – the leading monthly UK military resettlement publication – our Armed Forces Day special and be seen by over 25,000 people in our print version?
Background
Pathfinder were originally official media partners for the national main event being held in Scarborough for 2020, however due to the outbreak of COVID19, this was cancelled.
Yet, not to be defeated, we thought the best way to involve the general public and the military community was a competition in which anyone can send in a design, professional or amateur, children or the elderly – no restrictions anyone can take part. We would then showcase as many entries as we possibly can across our social media networks, number of likes and comments on each one determines who gets into our top 5 shortlist, which the winning design will then be voted for once again by the general public.
Theme
With it being the 12th year of Armed Forces Day and the forces being busy this year in their assistance with COVID19 relief efforts, we are asking people to base their designs, drawings, pictures, murals, sculptures, on “what the armed forces means to me.”
Design
The design can be made from anything as stated above, it doesn’t even have to be a picture or drawing, it could be a sculpture even, it just has to be your own work and by entering the competition, you declare this is the case.
We also NEED the image of your design sent in to be rather large and in hi resolution in order for it not to become pixelated on the actual front cover. If you are taking photos of your image, we do not necessarily need these to be hi res from the start, but we do need a hi resolution capture at some point.
If you are taking a photo of a design, then be sure to capture this in both landscape and portrait mode.
Entry Details
All you need to do to enter is send your design to Pathfinder editor, Mal Robinson at MRobinson@balticpublications.co.uk and the sooner the better!
Insert forces in the frame competition in the subject header on emails and include your full name and age and an explanation of your thinking for the design.
Deadline for the competition is Friday May 29 at 11:59pm! So get your skates on! Emailed entries after this date can not be considered.
Good luck with your designs and we can’t wait to see your entries.
Get creating!
