2020 has been a strange and testing year for the entire world, with everyday activities, work, social lives, and events affected by the pandemic.
COVID19 does not prevent us from remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in conflict and in serving our country.
Remembrance 2020 maybe a little different this year with social distancing in place and local lockdown measures curtailing parades up and down the country.
However, this does not stop us from remembering this November.
As such, Pathfinder International magazine – the leading UK monthly military resettlement publication distributed to over 25,000 military personnel and veterans via the MOD – is launching our own campaign aimed at promoting positivity and reducing self-isolation, which is particularly pertinent to the veteran community.
Pathfinder will be launching “Remembering Together” a project in which every member of the general public can join in and show their support for those who have served and those that do serve their country, particularly in 2020, when the Armed Forces have been a backdown of the COVID19 relief effort.
As well as an extensive section within the November issue of Pathfinder, with extra copies produced for distribution for those troops on parade and military veterans’ charities, Pathfinder will also be producing a Remembrance poster in the magazine and downloadable before Remembrance for people to display in the safety of their homes. This will also be downloadable from the Pathfinder website.
Pathfinder editor, Mal Robinson said: “We always mark Remembrance as standard anyway in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country, however we realise 2020 has been a trying year for many, if not us all at some point. With social distancing measures and regional lockdowns in place it will be difficult for many to attend parades and ceremonies and so we thought what better way to show your respect than a poster in the window and stand together in spirit. We will never forget.”
The poster will be made available soon, with a special poster also available for children and families to colour in and show their support.
Keep watching Pathfinder’s social media pages for news when the poster becomes downloadable.
