“In truth the idea of making a transition
to civilian life was more than daunting and not something I had planned for,”
says Jason.

As his Navy Reserve role increased, his
ability to commit to a full-time civilian job quickly became compromised; which
led Jason to think about alternative options which would accommodate his
part-time Navy life.

“I was looking for something different and
more flexible that could add a string to my bow – I wanted to develop a trade.
I immediately thought of gas as it has a synergy with my electrical skills and
knowledge. It was after making this decision I happened to have a chance
meeting with a career advisor who advised I might want to look at Brookhouse
Training.”

Jason took advantage of the weekly open
days held at Brookhouse Training and was immediately impressed by the level of
professionalism. “From the staff to the
facilities, and the fact there was no hard-sell, it all made absolute sense to
me. I’m from a training background so I know how to spot a good provider.”

After qualifying Jason secured full-time
employment as a domestic gas engineer in his home town. He is now embarking on
a sole project which he hopes will see the start of a family business.

Jason says: “A chance recommendation led me
to Brookhouse Training and I’m pleased it did, it is a thoroughly professional
outfit.”
