Test Your Mettle With A Zip Wire Challenge

Blind Veterans UK is offering a unique chance to test your bravery in a 120-foot-high Zip Wire Challenge from the top of its rehabilitation and training centre in Brighton – all in the name of charity…

The challenge will be hosted by the Royal Marines and takes place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May. Rob De Rosa, 48 and from Saltdean, is a volunteer for the charity who has decided to put aside his fear of heights to help raise funds for the military charity Blind Veterans UK. He said:

“I’m feeling a little bit nervous because I’m not great with heights but I thought this would push me out of my comfort zone a little bit. I like a challenge and it’s for a brilliant cause – I’m aiming to raise £200 for the charity. As part of my work as a volunteer, I visit Irene, a local blind veteran for a couple of hours a week. She’s an impressive, really resilient lady.”

Rachel Chitty, Regional Fundraiser for Blind Veterans UK says: “We’re really excited to welcome the Royal Marines back for the Zip Wire Challenge, which is always an amazing experience for participants and with the Royal Marines hosting we know you’ll be in safe hands.”

You can sign up to the Zip Wire Challenge as an individual or with a group by visiting the Blind Veterans UK’s website, or by calling 01273 391455.
