Are you an experienced Workshop Engineer and looking for a new challenge?

Here at Southern Water we may have something just for you. We are currently looking for a Workshop Engineer with both Mechanical and Electrical experience in a workshop environment to join our dynamic team at Peel Common on permanent basis. This opportunity comes with an attractive salary of up to £37,200.

Post holder will be required to engineer a repair to all types of Southern Water Assets. We require an experienced workshop engineer that can strip and repair Mechanical Pumps, BandScreen, compactors, gearboxes, preferably with a current certificate to work on Explosion rated equipment. The equipment that is being repaired has been in contact with sewage, all necessary wash down equipment along with all PPE will be supplied.

To be successful in this role you must have knowledge or experience of speciality area (electrics/mechanics/both) and heavy industry. Have completed a recognised apprenticeship in an industrial area, current Electrical Installation Regulations qualification. You need to be flexible and adaptable and willing to work as a team as the main focus will be to complete all work in a timely and safe manner. Understanding of ISO 9001 procedures and H&S policies are required. Please note you must have a full clean driving licence as the role will include visiting other sites. This role will be ideal for a candidate with industrial plant maintenance skills and previous experience in a similar role.
