ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client are Armed Forces Covenant signatories in the food and drinks sector. They provide many UK major supermarkets and food service retailers, making them a leading supplier in their field. Based in central Scotland, they not only ensure local produce but have sustainability at the core. Their products come from organic sources and they have driven forward innovation in their packaging. Our client are listed by the Good Shopping Guide as an ethical company. This company employs just under 500 people across the UK, with the majority based in Scotland. There are a number of Veterans employed already by our client, spread across operations, production and HSE. Due to a vast increase in demand, our client are recruiting a Production Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary focus for this Production Manager is the leadership of all site production activity and production teams. The successful candidate will lead & support the efficient production of the client’s products on site. You will embed a solid operating rhythm and accountability across teams, to drive KPI performance. You will ensure the safety of employees as well as the legality and quality of the finished product. This role will also lead the team on our client’s Operational Excellence journey. You will collaborate with a number of internal teams including operations, supply chain, HR, engineering and HSE.

ABOUT YOU

Our client are looking for someone with senior management experience, and a track record of  inspiring, developing and coaching teams to achieve sustainable, great results. Ideally, production/manufacturing experience would be desirable, but not essential. You should have experience of setting and driving objectives and be able to demonstrate the delivery of results in both the short and long term. Any experience in operational excellence would be advantageous as would any relevant H&S qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely.

Our client want a natural and comfortable leader. You should be able to demonstrate your ability to engage and inspire others to succeed through your coaching and management style. Additionally, you should be consistently organised and able to focus on delivery. The successful candidate must be able to quickly analyse data and information, to produce insights to be acted upon. You should also be able to work seamlessly at both a strategic and tactical level. Our client want someone who is resilient, collaborative and passionate about their work. They are looking for someone to take ownership and act with the highest levels of integrity at all times.

This role would suit someone who has experience at OR7/OF2 (CPO/SSgt/FSgt/or Lt/Capt/Fl Lt) or above, particularly from a technical trade/branch. This role is commutable from areas around Perth, Stirling, Falkirk and Dundee and will pay up to £50K per year, dependent on experience.
