We are looking for experienced training professionals to effectively plan, design, deliver and evaluate training programmes aligned to the strategic vision of the International Training Academy.

About the UKHO

UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world’s oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.

We deliver a wide range of international training programmes to develop the core skills of those active within Hydrography and Cartography. The UKHO International Training Academy delivers training to over 100 countries, supporting the International Hydrographic Office’s (IHO) commitment to capacity building, and developing international capability.

The role

The successful post holders will be responsible for international training activity within their remit, working with the wider International Training Team, Academy Officer and International Training Manager to plan effective schedules of work in line with capacity building requests. Alongside other members of the delivery team the post holder will be responsible for the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes for international students with training delivered at the UKHO, overseas and through digital learning.

The role will require you to be adaptive to working across various global time zones and you may be expected to organise and participate in weekend and weekday social activities with international delegations.

What we are looking for

To be shortlisted you will need to evidence:

Proficiency when designing and implementing blended programmes of study.

Ability to translate a training concept into real time informative activity through to course completion and summative analysis.

Experience of planning and organising work for self and others to meet demanding timescales.

As an important aspect of this role involves regular spoken interaction with members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential to be successful for the post. You will be tested on this at interview.
