Class 2 Driver

We are now recruiting for Class 2 Drivers based in Maidstone on a full time, permanent basis.

As a driver at Fowler Welch Maidstone, you will be delivering temperature-controlled products to our customer’s convenience store locations on a multi-drop basis. Safety is at the heart of everything we do and in this customer-facing role, delivering a great experience for our customers is also a high priority. The delivery is all cage work, mostly in dedicated service areas and also at the curb-side on both am and pm runs. Accuracy and on-time delivery are important and there is paperwork that needs to be completed as part of the delivery process.

Salary:

• Weekday rates (daytime) – £15.00ph
• Weekday rates (between 20:00-04:00) – £16.50ph
• Saturday rate (daytime) – £18.00ph
• Saturday rate (between 20:00-04:00) – £19.80ph
• Sundays rate (daytime) – £22.50ph
• Sunday rate (between 20:00-04:00) – £24.75ph

Overtime rates:

• Weekday rate over 45 hours in any one week  & Saturdays: £18.00ph
• Weekday rate (20:00-04:00 over 45 hours) & Saturdays (20:00-04:00): £19.80ph

Shift Pattern and Start time: ( 9 hour day minimum )

• 5 from 7 shift pattern
• Start times between: 02:45am  – 04:00am  + 10:30am – 11:00am

Experience and Qualifications:

• Cat C Licence (Class 2)
• A good understanding of the legal requirements regarding tachograph and driving hours
• Sound geographical knowledge
• Sound knowledge of secure loading practices
• Professional manner and conduct when dealing with our customers
• Multi – Drop work

Previous experience within a similar driving role is not a requirement for us – we will take on newly qualified drivers with a hard working attitude and a willingness to learn.
