A large and successful machinery repairer for the rail industry is seeking a HSQE and Facilities Coordinator to provide advice, manage facility maintenance requirements, and ensure systems are maintained to meet H&S and legal standards. The HSQE and Facilities Coordinator will have attained IOSH General Certificate, have basic knowledge of heavy engineering maintenance, and is familiar in working in a heavily regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist and conduct in HSQE Physical Conditions inspections, prepare reports and follow up as and when
Maintain a three-yearly internal audit plan
Maintain and prepare the ECM annual report, ensuring all evidence is accurate and available for audit
Attend audits carried out by Clients, BSI, and RISQS etc.
Send out invites and audit schedule to Company attendees
Prepare and distribute alerts, bulletins, briefs and other formal communications
Maintain information on notice boards and safety posters
Attend SMT meetings, and complete minutes with actions recorded to be forwarded to SMT
Plan and attend the HSQE Committee meeting, send out minutes with actions
Monitor Croner/HSE/Industry briefs
Maintain company legislation list
Incorporate changes to IMS as required by legislation change
Prepare, review and update the companies’ science-based targets records/spreadsheet
Carry out internal audits ensuring relevant compliance is in place
Prepare audit protocol, carry out audit at providers premises
Create and update assessments when required from MSDS
Create and amend risk assessments and upload to document register
Investigate accidents & incidents and update statistics spreadsheet, while ensuring stats are displayed on electronic notice boards
Carry out HSQE briefings/training to new starters, refresher sessions where necessary
Maintain digital and physical records, including SOPs, forms, certificates, test certificates etc.
Manage the site facilities maintenance requirements
Help prepare lease and purchase of capital equipment
Ensure plant and equipment database is up to date
Obtain quotes for building repairs and maintenance work
Manage contractors on premises, do inductions and provide necessary documentation
Undertake any other duties as and when required
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essentials:
Have minimum education to GCSE level
Have basic knowledge of heavy engineering maintenance
Have good verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, presentation, and IT skills
Able to work with minimal supervision and translate legislative requirements in practical processes
Attained IOSH General Certificate
Experience of large, complex, organisations in a heavily regulated industry sector
Experience in dealing with builders and contractors
Desirable:
Have knowledge of railway-on-track machinery maintenance
Have used Microsoft Navision software
Attained a risk assessment certificate
Acquired a NEBOSH Certificate, IEMA Certificate, is a Member of IOSH, or have experience as an Internal Auditor
Have managerial experience of HSQE issues in the engineering and/or rail industries
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
