The Home Office is recruiting for several roles at Apollo House in Croydon. Border Force is a Law Enforcement arm of the Home Office. We are responsible for securing the UK border 24/7, 365 days a year. There are over 10,000 people working in the Border Force, in airports and seaports, across the UK and overseas. Together, we implement immigration and customs regulations and work with the wider Home Office on counter terrorism, organised crime, modern slavery and trafficking.

About the roles

We’re currently recruiting for a Deputy Operational Security Advisor (£38,350-£41,035 plus annual allowances of £4,218.5 (11%), an Insider Threat and Integrity Senior Officer (£45,600-£48,792 plus annual allowances of £5,016 (11%) and three Insider Threat and Integrity Officers (£32,000-£33,600 plus annual allowances of £3,520 (11%). The roles are all based at Apollo House in Croydon, but you will need to be willing to travel to different Border Force locations when required. Although none of these roles involve shift work, you may need to start early or finish late Monday-Friday, or work weekends, when the business requires it. The nature of the work we do and the locations we work in means that our teams sometimes operate in difficult and pressurised environments, where priorities change quickly. For each of these roles, we’re looking for the ability to be flexible and adapt quickly.

Deputy Operational Security Advisor

In this role, you will help join an evolving team helping to respond to Insider Threat and to protect Border Force’s staff, assets and reputation. You will offer impartial advice and guidance on security and risk management, identify areas of potential risk and review personnel security incidents. You must have a valid UK driving licence as you may need to visit remote places and a valid Passport as overseas travel might be needed.

Inside Threat and Integrity Senior Officer

Here, you will be part of the People Protection and Risk Team (PPRT), who carry out bespoke vetting checks and manage Border Force personnel security risks and vulnerabilities. You’ll lead a team of 25 staff who are responsible for identifying and risk assessing insider threat. Excellent communication skills and the highest levels of integrity and accountability are needed in this role. You’ll need SC level security clearance and DV clearance once in the post, along with Non-Police Personnel Vetting at Level 3.

Inside Threat and Integrity Officer

You will be part of the People Protection and Risk Team (PPRT), who carry out bespoke vetting checks and manage Border Force personnel security risks and vulnerabilities. You’ll contribute to the development of the team, gaining experience and insight into insider threat and counter-corruption. This is a high-profile environment and involves regularly reporting to senior leaders. You’ll be dealing with highly sensitive personal matters, and will need the ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity and accountability at all times. You’ll need SC level security clearance and DV clearance once in the post, along with Non-Police Personnel Vetting at Level 3.
