Mitie Care & Custody are currently recruiting for Use of Force Instructors. The objective of the role is to ensure new and existing colleagues are appropriately trained to fulfil their role and developed to their full potential. To deliver Use of Force training to new staff and refresher training to existing staff.

The role will be based near Bedford for 9 months but after this will be based in Manston with travel to Heathrow and Gatwick.

Use of Force training will be HOMES (Home Office Manual for Escorting Safely),  C&R (Control and Restraint) and MMPR (Managing and Minimising Physical Restraint) training programmes may also be delivered.

You will be an active member of the Training Team role modelling Mitie values; You Are Mitie principles and Professional standards challenging behaviour that is not aligned.

You will work alongside NTRG (National Tactical Support Group) in the delivery of Use of Force training packages to cohorts of new and experienced Care & Custody colleagues, using a variety of techniques to suit different learning styles, neurodiversity needs and individual special requirements.

You will report to the Training Manager (UOF), whilst supporting the Regional Training Manager in actively promoting training across Care & Custody, contributing to the goal of supporting all staff to reach their full potential.

Salary is £34,00, working 40 hours p/w, Monday to Friday. For the role, you must have a good level of physical fitness and resilience to deliver physical Use of Force training.

You will be required to have a minimum 2 years’ experience in a people facing role.  (This is to support delivery of communication and de-escalation aspects of Use of Force training.) A Minimum 1 years’ experience in a fast paced ever changing environment working autonomously and remotely within a wider team.

Relevant and industry recognised accreditations and qualifications eg Education and training qualification level 3 or equivalent and/or previous coaching & teaching experience are desirable

Previous Use of Force, First Aid or Health & Safety instructor training is desirable but not essential.

You must be willing to travel and stay overnight as required.
