Abseiling For Alabaré!

Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, UK, stands tall against a blue sky with scattered clouds; boats and the harbor bustle below. Nearby, veterans find new adventures on Civvy Street as they embrace resettlement and fresh beginnings.

South-West based charity Alabaré are hosting a charity abseil down the Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on Sunday 25th March…

45 participants will abseil 100 metres down the side of the tower whilst raising funds for Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans. The service provides supported accommodation to British Armed Forces Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

The event is also taking place in recognition of the opening of our new Gosport Home for Veterans, Greenwich House, which opened late 2017 thanks to the generous support of Greenwich Hospital.

We provide dedicated support to Veterans across the South of England and Wales – specifically; Wiltshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Devon, Dorset as well as North and South Wales. On any given night our Homes for Veterans are able to keep over 120 Veterans off the streets.

All 45 tickets have now sold out, with participants expected to raise a minimum of £200.

Community Fundraiser Laura Knight says: “As the largest provider of homes for veterans outside of London, we are incredibly excited about this event. We believe no Veteran should be forced to sleep on the streets and are hoping that the funds raised will help us continue our work in helping those who have fallen on hard times.”

Banner with the text: "We're looking for you. Transition smoothly from Civvy Street and find out more." Logos for "Just Add Talent" and "Star Pubs & Bars" are also present.
