Armed Forces Community – Creative Wellbeing Project

‘On the Table’ is a project that is part of the Royal British Legion’s Recovery Through the Arts programme. Now in its 12th year, this creative initiative offers a space for veterans, serving personnel, and their partners or carers to come together, connect, and express their stories through art.

This year’s project will be led by award-winning artist Laura Aldridge, guiding participants in creating a unique feasting table – complete with handmade tablecloths, plates, platters, and utensils – crafted from clay, cloth, and dyes. These artworks will form part of a powerful exhibition, sharing stories of the military community through creativity and sparking conversations across the wider Edinburgh community.
