The Forces Pension Society is back with its Armed Forces Pensions Awareness campaign, which again runs alongside the national Pension Awareness campaign throughout the week of 9-13 September.
Why does it matter to you?
Planning ahead, ensuring you make the best pension choices is more important than ever. Armed Forces Pension Schemes (AFPS) are complex and that’s why the Forces Pension Society treats Pension Awareness Week as the perfect opportunity to help raise awareness of the importance of your pension, so ultimately you can improve your long-term financial wellbeing from which to launch your second career, and lay the foundations for a dignified retirement.
The campaign will include group presentations as part of the Society’s usual Roadshow programme:
- 9 September: 18 Signal Regiment; Captains Warfare Course
- 10 September: ITG Chicksands
- 11 September: Army Staff London and MOD Main Building
- 13 September: Army RSM Designate Course
For the main campaign, there will be online myth busting/tips and facts, as well as live presentations for the Ministry of Defence on the 10 & 12 September.
There is always more that can be done to make serving personnel more aware of the true value of their pension, and never was the Society’s theme “it pays to understand your pension” more relevant to you and your future well-being.
As well a creating awareness for those serving who may not have yet thought about their pension, the aim is also to reach out to those in resettlement, veterans, and families.
