Greenwich Hospital Awards Grant of £300,000 to the Forces Employment Charity

Greenwich Hospital has awarded the Forces Employment Charity a grant of £300,000 over three years to fund career advice and access to job opportunities for former Royal Navy and Royal Marine personnel through its Ex-Forces Employment Programme.

The Forces Employment Charity provides life-long, life-changing support, jobs and training opportunities to Service leavers, veterans, reservists and their spouses, partners and children.

With a UK national footprint, the Charity gives veterans access to free employment expertise wherever they are based. Employment support is tailored to help the individual meet their employment goals. Staff, many of whom have connections to the armed forces, work closely with people to enable them to succeed within their chosen jobs and career paths.

Former personnel registering with the Forces Employment Charity can expect an individual employment consultation followed up with access to a jobs board and industry events, all geared towards developing sustainable employment opportunities.

Deirdre Mills, Director of Greenwich Hospital, said:

“Greenwich Hospital funding supports serving and former personnel through different life stages and challenges. For those leaving the services seeking their first civilian employment opportunity, the Forces Employment Charity is an experienced partner. We look forward to seeing how this funding will enable Naval personnel to succeed and continue to thrive.”

Alistair Halliday, Chief Executive at the Forces Employment Charity, said:

“This crucial funding award from Greenwich Hospital means continuity of employment expertise and support for serving and former Royal Naval personnel when they need it most. Our goal is to enable them and their families every opportunity to secure sustainable, long-term employment.”
