JJ Chalmers returns to host Army v Navy Rugby Live

A group of military personnel in various uniforms stand holding trophies and rugby balls in front of a stadium, celebrating the thrilling Army v Navy Rugby match. JJ Chalmers, the live host, shares a proud smile with the victors.

Former Royal Marine JJ Chalmers is back pitch side at Twickenham on 3rd May for this year’s British Army v Royal Navy clash.

The TV presenter joins a roster of rugby and military pundits for what promises to be two thrilling matches at the Allianz Stadium.

JJ will be joined by England international and Saracens star Rocky Clark and commentator Simon Ward for the men’s match, with Lieutenant Matt Bowden, Flight Sergeant Justin Coleman, and Major Will Reeve providing military insights.

In the commentary box for the women’s game will be England centre Rachael Burford and Scotland lock and RAF Flying Officer Sarah Bonar.

They will be joined by BFBS Sport reporter Simon Hunter, with punditry from Lieutenant Colonel Charlie Maxwell and Petty Officer Ellis Thorpe.

The Twickenham showdown is one of three inter service matches in the championship: the Navy meets the RAF first at Northampton Saints’ ground Franklin’s Gardens on April 19 and the tournament concludes on May 17 with the RAF v British Army at Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester.

Lisa Mitchell, Director of Editorial Content, said:

“It’s fantastic to have JJ back at the helm for what is not only a hugely popular fixture for the British military but for all rugby fans. Last year’s men’s match was unbelievably nail biting and it’s safe to say the Navy will be out to avenge that heartbreaking result.“
