You may have spotted our running theme for our Armed Forces Day Special Issue?
The one of promoting the ethos of hosting your own safe events up and down the country and across the globe in the absence of larger organised shows once more for 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Armed Forces Day Down Your Way! campaign began with the front cover and the editor’s daughter, Molly Robinson, producing her own poster in advance of the main event on June 26.
As Dad Mal adds, the idea of the front cover became a good fit for the issue.
“Molly decided to produce her own poster for Armed Forces Day 2021, which is what our campaign this year is all about. It is about communities coming together safely and enjoying the day, celebrating the efforts of our troops.
As we were putting this issue together, Molly produced this on hear about our cut out bunting and Union Jack and its her own tribute to the forces, taking her inspiration from words she associates with the military and using headlines as in her words “they have been in the media a lot in the last year, helping us against COVID”.
It kind of made sense then to place her work on the front cover of this special issue.”
