Northampton Saints to host RAF v Royal Navy

The first match of the British military’s Inter Service Rugby Championship will be played at Franklin’s Gardens, the home of Northampton Saints.

The prestigious stadium is a new location for the the annual RAF v Royal Navy clash on April 19.Apart from top-flight European rugby, the Saints have a strong association with the military. Most recently, the Navy’s Sam Matavesi played in the side from 2019 to 2024.

BFBS is the official broadcaster of the championship, the other two matches being Army v Navy on May 3 at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, and Army v RAF at Kingsholm, Gloucester, on May 17.
