War Memorials Trust works to protect the estimated 100,000 war memorials in the UK. While many are well cared for up to 7,000 are in need of attention suffering the effects of ageing, weathering and vandalism.

The charity offers free advice to anyone with a war memorial enquiry and administers grants to fund repair and conservation projects. During the centenary the charity has helped 420 communities through £1.8 million of grants. It also runs a Learning Programme to educate young people about war memorials.

As a charity the Trust is dependent on voluntary contributions to continue its work. Tickets for the talk are £25 including a year’s membership of the charity while all donations help preserve the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice 100 years ago.
