As part of its widening efforts to expand engagement with a range of communities, Pathfinder International has produced their first column for Wearside paper – Sunderland One.
Written by Editor, Mal Robinson, the column is the first in a series aimed at veterans in the North East region, whilst showcasing what Pathfinder can offer Armed Forces leavers.
Robinson said: “We wanted to expand more into the community and when the chance came to write for Sunderland One, it seemed too good an opportunity to turn away. Sunderland alone has 26,000 veterans, ranging from 23 years old to 103 years old and it seemed a great area to start. People also forget the fact that a career is always in transition and not just in the resettlement phase, so anything further we can do to provide and direct information in recruitment and training, will be put out there not only to the immediate community leaving the forces, but also veterans and their families.”
Robinson hopes this is the first of many media partnerships in local communities up and down the country and has asked anyone wanting to come on board to email him atMRobinson@balticpublications.co.uk
