Leicestershire Aero Club provides Private Pilots Licence (PPL) and Light Aircraft Pilots Licence (LAPL) training up to National level. This includes all ground school and flying tuition (including examinations) up to NVQ level 4 equivalent. To enhance the licenses, training for Night rating and Instrument Rating Restricted IR (R) Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) is provided to enable competency in poor weather conditions. For increased experience and airmanship, Aerobatics training and differences training for Tail Wheel aircraft is also available. The courses provided by the Leicestershire Aero Club give a necessary foundation for those seeking to go on and gain a Commercial Pilots License or Flying Instructor Rating.
