BASI Ltd is recognised by the UK Sport Council & BIS as the UK Competent Authority for on snow training & qualifying of Snowsport & Coach Instructors. The training syllabi, structured to the relevant needs of the specific snowsport and level of certification, are recognised internationally for snowsport teaching employment throughout the world. The International Ski Teacher Diploma is recognised by the French Ministry for Youth and Sport as directly equivalent to SVQ level 3 in the UK, training modules cover technical, teaching, and safety. Technical training modules are sport specific. Skiing, Snowboarding, Nordic; Telemark and Adaptive (disabled skiing). Technical modules cover, equipment knowledge and maintenance, biomechanics for movement analysis, personal performance minimum standards criteria. Ability required to clearly demonstrate a clear progression pathway to the highest levels of performance in all terrain and snow conditions. The Teaching covers the principles and techniques and their relationship to the differing types/needs of learners. The Safety covers class management, knowledge of mountain environment & avalanche rescue procedures & navigation.
