UK’S LARGEST CARE PROVIDER CALLS FOR ‘A CARING ARMY’ AS IT CREATES THOUSANDS OF NEW ROLES
HC-One, the kind care company is on the hunt for Britain’s kindest citizens to join its ‘caring army’ of Colleagues and is calling on workers who have been furloughed or lost their job due to coronavirus to consider a career change to help support older people in their communities.
As the UK’s largest care provider, this unprecedented recruitment drive has created thousands of new, permanent roles at its more than 300 care homes across country; the number of new roles we’re creating is in response to the growing need from the NHS to unlock valuable hospital beds, meaning our care homes will become a vital service to support the vulnerable elderly population.
Available opportunities vary from carers and wellbeing coordinators, to chefs, kitchen porters, administrators and maintenance operatives; each of these with the potential for successful candidates to springboard further career progression within HC-One.
Full training and induction will be provided, with new hires helping support HC-One existing 23,000 strong front-line care teams. The key requirements are a commitment to kindness and compassion, and a desire to put a smile of the faces of older people.
All roles will include access to HC-One’s internationally award-winning learning and development programme and will come with real opportunities for career advancement in the future. A competitive benefits package is offered, and all new joiners will become some of the UK’s crucial ‘key workers’ with the additional support offered to them by Government at this time.
Lucy Connolly, Director of People, said:
“Calling all people who are kind, caring and want to make a difference by joining our team of Key Workers: your community needs you! We need people to rally together and join our teams to support society’s most vulnerable during these unprecedented times and beyond.
“The care sector is such a rich and rewarding place to work. There is variety in your work and in the roles available – you don’t have to be a carer to make a meaningful difference in our care homes. We want the kindest and most resilient people to come and support our Residents – no two days will be the same and you will receive the learning and development you need to thrive.”
“This is an important time to work in care – we’re ready; are you?”
Marion Leslie, former dental nurse and current Wellbeing Coordinator at Woodside Court, said:
“After 20 years as a dental nurse, I was ready for a change. After volunteering at a local care home, a wonderful 96 year old resident taught me how to crotchet – the rest, as they say, is history. “My only regret is not making the career change sooner! Every day is unique, with new opportunities and new challenges. A career in care is worth the change.”
