With only days to go until nominations close for the 2019 Soldiering On Awards, now’s the time to leap into action to win recognition for a person, group or team that deserves to be showcased throughout the military family and beyond…
If you believe someone is worth being put forward for a prestigious Soldiering On award, please nominate them now, before it’s too late.
The Rt Hon Tobias Ellwood MP, Minister for Defence People and Veterans, spoke to BFBS Radio at the recent nominations launch event held at the National Army Museum. He said:
“These awards are absolutely fantastic because they’re not only recognising individuals that have strived through adversity to develop a new chapter and direction in their lives, but it’s also rewarding those who provide that help. It’s the charities, the individuals that have gone that extra mile, seeking no gratitude themselves, who really want to provide that support to our brave and valiant personnel.
“Now in its ninth year, it’s become part of the military calendar. It’s where we take stock of the support we provide, but also remind and educate the nation out there of our duty to look after our brave Forces personnel. It’s also about entrepreneurs; people who are looking to advance the skills sets that are transferred from what you’ve learnt in the army or navy into civilian life.”
