Between 26th May and 4th June 1940, hundreds of civilian boats and vessels were mobilised across the channel to rescue the Allies from the shores of Dunkirk.
75 years on, Patrick Eade looks back at Operation Dynamo when the ‘little ships’ evacuated more than 338,000 Belgian, French and British troops as they retreated from Hitler’s forces during the Second World War.
