Independent charity the Officers’ Association has announced it will be sponsoring the annual Inter-Services Triathlon for 2016…

Organised by the Army Triathlon Association (ATA), the event takes place each year and sees entrants across the triservices; Army, Navy and RAF, competing in various categories; Male Female and Veteran (over 50’s) to head up the leader board.

This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 27th July 2016 at Lake 32, South Cerney, nr. Cirencester. Entrants will swim 1.5 kilometres, cycle 40 kilometres and run 10 kilometres in times circa 2 hours. Last year’s winner Luke Pollard from the RAF completed the event in 1 hour, 53 Minutes and .05 seconds.

Lt Col Chris Stuart, Commanding Officer of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment and Chairman of the ATA says of the event “The Officers’ Association Inter-Services Triathlon is a fantastic event within the triservices and hugely important to the entrants who will have been training hard all year in anticipation of the event. We are very grateful to the OA for their support of this event without which it would not be guaranteed to run.

"Offering forces personnel the opportunity to push themselves and be the best is of the utmost importance and we know the OA promote this positive attitude to health and well-being in all they do as an organisation too, which for us offers a great sponsorship synergy and we look forward to working together.”

This is the first time the Officers’ Association (OA) has sponsored the Inter-Services Triathlon and Lee Holloway, CEO at the OA, says of the sponsorship: “We are delighted to be supporting this marvellous sporting event. We have many serving and retired officers coming to the OA for our support either before or after the transition into civilian life, we are therefore pleased to have the opportunity to spread the word of the work we do through this event.”
