New MoD & Veterans Cyber Academy Training Programme, Unlocking Cyber Security Careers for Service Leavers and Veterans.

BIT Training, in collaboration with CREST, CompTIA, TechVets, and Talent Vantage, is thrilled to announce the launch of the MoD & Veterans Cyber Academy Training Programme. This innovative initiative is designed to support and develop service leavers and veterans transitioning out of the Armed Forces who have a passion for technology and security.

The MoD & Veterans Cyber Academy leverages the valuable military experience of participants and provides them with focused training to launch a rewarding career in the field of cyber security. This bespoke transitional training programme equips individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this dynamic and important field.

“Our team is here to support and equip MoD service leavers and veterans with the skills needed to succeed in their cyber security future,” said Ben Franklin, CEO at BIT Training. “Through our partnership with industry leaders such as CREST, CompTIA, TechVets, and Talent Vantage, we are able to offer a comprehensive and tailored programme that addresses the specific needs of our participants.”

The programme includes training in CompTIA Security+ 701, covering general security concepts, threat assessment and mitigation, security architecture, and more. Participants will also undertake the CREST CPSA Course, which includes vulnerability scans, operating system assessment, and basic infrastructure and web application assessment using commonly available tools.

Additionally, the programme provides essential support for CV writing, job applications, networking on LinkedIn, interview techniques, Q&A sessions, and access to live job opportunities specifically tailored for ex-military personnel.

To be eligible for the MoD & Veterans Cyber Academy Training Programme, individuals must be MoD service personnel or Veterans with access to Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC), military veterans with access to ELC, or sponsored military personnel or MoD veterans. A foundational understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking is essential, while practical experience in IT security or related fields is beneficial.

The pilot programme for the MoD & Veterans Cyber Academy Training Programme will commence Autumn 2024.
