Poppies go on sale this year on October 26, sold by the Royal British Legion. They will be on sale in shops on Thursday, however many won’t officially wear their Poppy until October 31.

Many people believe they should wear their Poppy from this date as it is 11 days before Remembrance Day.

Armistice Day is always held on November 11 – the date when World War 1 ended. This year’s Remembrance Sunday will be held on November 12.

There are hundreds of events up and down the country marking the occasion. For the full list and what’s on in your area, please visit the RBL website here: http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/community/calendar/
